www.projectalert.com/I'm certain you've all heard of the D.A.R.E. Program, but I was wondering if you are aware of Project Alert? "The Project ALERT curriculum was created and tested by RAND, the nation’s leading think tank on drug policy. Developed over a ten-year period, Project ALERT addresses the pro-drug mindset of today’s teens and effectively increases their likelihood to remain drug-free." - Project Alert Overview After receiving my D.O.T. certification in 1994, I began seeing a somewhat downward spiral to what was once a great Drug Abuse (albeit abstinence) program. Fast forward to 2006 when I was introduced to Project Alert, which is a drug awareness program focused at the 7th/8th grade levels. The link above will take you to this FREE program, in which you will be able to peruse the Overview, as well as take a snapshot look into the lessons. The on-line training is FREE, the lesson material is FREE, the PowerPoint presentations are FREE and the associated video's are FREE. If you are in need of additional enticement, did I mention the entire curricula is FREE? I've taught Project Alert for many years at this target group, and testate as to how effective the materials are. Feel free to contact me via a PM or my home email (srodavid@windstream.net) for any questions you may have. - David
